Drinking water is the most important food stuff. 50-60 % of the human body consists of water. Therefore protection and control of drinking water quality is of special public interest and subjected to statutory regulation. The new drinking water directive (2001), the national implementation of the EU Directive 98/83/EG, has the aim to “protect human health from adverse effects which result from the pollution of water, (..) by ensuring good taste and purity.”

To reach this aim parameters and threshold values are laid down. Furthermore laboratories have to ensure a special quality by accreditation. MESOCOSM GmbH holds such an accreditation according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025 for the analysis of drinking and swimming water. The permission includes physical-chemical as well as microbiological parameters.
