MESOCOSM GmbH is a GLP certified contract test facility, with a focus on „Effects on mesocosms and natural ecosystems”. It is located at the research center Neu-Ulrichstein near Homberg (Ohm) in Hessen, Germany. 

The outdoor test facility was built following the recent recommendations of SETAC and OECD Guidance Documents and currently has capacity for up to five mesocosm studies per year.

Mesocosm supply laboratories with aquatic test organisms mainly macrophytes for indoor studies.

A team of experienced biologists, veterinarians and technical assistants works in close cooperation with analysts, statisticians and risk assessors, thus providing the scientific expertise for the planning, management, conduction and interpretation of mesocosm studies.

MESOCOSM GmbH also holds an accreditation according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025 for the analysis of physical-chemical and microbiological parameters of swimming pools and drinking water.

MESOCOSM GmbH hosts the office of the “Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry – German Language Branch e.V.” (SETAC-GLB).
